How do I cancel my account?

We’re sorry to see you go! If you need to cancel your InstantVAT service, please follow these steps:

Log in to your Government Gateway

Navigate to Manage your VAT account -> Your business details. Go to Bank account for repayments only and update with your preferred bank details. This will ensure you receive your next VAT refund from HMRC.

Once you've completed this update, HMRC will take up to 24 hours to confirm the new details. After HMRC accepts your updated repayment account, your InstantVAT account will be deactivated.
